The Ding-Dongs (2013) -Rang Tang Ding Dong

Artist: The Ding-Dongs
Albums: Rang Tang Ding Dong
Release date:  2013
Quality:  mp3 CBR 224
Size:  57 MB

“The Ding-Dongs are Mark Sultan and Bloodshot Bill, two heavyweights of rock’n'roll, old friends both hailing from Montreal . Bloodshot Bill has been wowing crowds across the world with his incredibly authentic (but not cheesy) rockabilly sounds as a one-man band and beyond. Mark Sultan (BBQ) has been touring incessantly with a soulful voice commandeering his own one-man band, based in chaos and RnR/RnB of the most sincere kind. Together as the Ding-Dongs, they make rock’n'roll of the highest caliber. The real shit.” @ marksultan.com

P.S. Great thanks for the album to Nothing But Trash

Mark Sultan (2012) -War On Rock’N’Roll

Artist:  Mark Sultan
Album: War On Rock’N’Roll
Release date:  2012
Quality:  mp3 CBR 320 [vinyl rip]
Size:  105 MB

“Mark Sultan... Have you heard this name before? One half of the King Khan & BBQ Show and the infamous BBQ one man band. Singer/guitarist of Mind Controls. Drummer/singer of Les Sexareenos. Singer of The Spaceshits. Collaborator with The Deadly Snakes, Jack Oblivian and The Demon's Claws. Treasurer of the Death Cult (along with Khan, the Demon's Claws, The Black Lips, The Spits and The Gris Gris). Owner of Sultan Records. He's toured the world several times over as a musical vagabond of missionary proportions. Ring a bell? He's been called everything from 'our generation's Gerry Roslie' to 'a visionary with the voice of an angel' and 'a true rock'n'roll hero'." © In The Red Records

"In The Red Records has decided to release this recording on vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day, and I am thrilled. While you listen to this recording, keep in mind that it is one take, live, and that the sides of the LP split the recording, obviously due to vinyl's time limitations upon pressing. At the time of this recording, yes, I was hellbent on converting my live sound to what you hear on this LP. It had been my first and only attempt at this sound, and while I am myself curious how I pulled it off in that one take, and while I really enjoy how it sounds, I never tried doing it again. Maybe I will for some of these upcoming shows." © Mark Sultan

Various Artists (2012) -Hipbone Slim vs Sir Bald Diddley

Artist:   various
Albums: Hipbone Slim vs Sir Bald Diddley
Released: 2012
Quality: mp3 CBR 192
Size: 135 MB

”On the first of this two-CD set you will find 20 cuts, previously unreleased on compact disc format, by Hipbone Slim & the Kneetremblers, a band that plays proper rock’n’roll! Alongside Sir Bald (aka Hipbone Slim) is Bruce ‘Bash’ Brand (drums), one of Britain’s if not the world’s finest rock’n’roll drummers, a veteran of such bands as the Milkshakes and Headcoats, alongside Billy Childish, as well as Holly Golightly’s band, the Masonics, and more. He has also worked with the Pretty Things, Downliners Sect, Wreckless Eric, Mungo Jerry and made two albums with Link Wray along the way. Gastus Receedus (bass/harmonica), has played in many a band (Big Wigs, Arousers, Playboys, etc) and worked with many a rock’n’roll legend – Billy Lee Riley, Sonny Burgess, Dale Hawkins, and Don & Dewey to name but a few! Hipbone Slim & the Kneetremblers take rock’n’roll, rhythm’n’blues, whatever you want to call it, and give it their own unique stamp and energy. They have somehow captured the true essence of rock’n’roll in a way that very few have been able to do in a very long time. Meanwhile, on the other disc in this super-deluxe set, you will find Louie and the Louies, The Kneejerk Reactions and The Legs. This really is a true battle of the bands! Albeit in a somewhat ‘schizophrenic’ manner!” ~ ©

Del Moroccos (2009) -Blue Black Hair

Artist:   Del Moroccos
Albums: Blue Black Hair
Released: 2009
Quality: mp3 CBR 320
Size: 86 MB

”Knock the Ray-ettes and Link Wray together, with a blast of garage, a hit of late '50s black rock n' roll, dress 'em up like Johnny Cash, and you get a raucous, mean mix of "'50s garage". The members are veteran Chicago musicians from the rockabilly, surf, ska, jazz and R & B scenes, from bands including: Mighty Blue Kings, Jimmy Sutton's Four Charms, Deals Gone Bad, Cave Catt Sammy, The Stranger, Kevin O'Donnell's Quality 6, Reluctant Aquanauts and The Stacks. The Del Moroccos lead guitar player Jimmy Sutton, hand picked the line up for this relentless new sound. The Del Moroccos set list features choice selections of obscure, rockin' early independent record label songs and wild originals, capturing a sound that teeters somewhere between the 50's and 60's, and is performed with the emotion of early punk and mod revival. New on the scene, the Del Moroccos have shared the stage with SUN rocording artist Hayden Thompson, and the Queen of rockabilly, the legendary Wanda Jackson” ~ ©

”What can we say about this band? Other than it features three of Britain's most prominent and talented rock 'n' roll musicians, whose individual musical histories take in the best British garage, surf, trash, punk and beat bands of the last 20 years. The band is led by Sir Bald Diddley aka Hipbone Slim aka The Bald Bomber, who has been a leading world force in the field of surf and rock 'n' roll instrumentals for a decade or more. .”

Leningrad Cowboys (2011) -Buena Vodka Social Club

Artist: Leningrad Cowboys
Album: Buena Vodka Social Club
Released: 2011
Quality: mp3 CBR 320
Size: 106 MB

”It's still a positively spaced-out surreal trip, as Buena Vodka Social Club is an album that wanders from sound to sound with little rhyme or reason and minimal cohesion. This really doesn't do much to harm the album, however. By the time you're into the third song or so, you're back with the people who were saying "what the hell?" after the band's MTV appearance, and maybe you still can't describe quite why you like this album - you just know you do.
….
I still don't know what I got into with this record. Gypsy punk merging with '50s rock, and liberal references to '80s hair and stuff so much weirder. It's random and spastic, but also really, really good. It's good to see the band behind continues to make people scratch their heads in confusion, but haven't done it at the expense of their music. They're musically solid and a powerhouse band - even if they make zero sense about it sometimes.”

Various Artists -The Ace Story Vol.1-Vol.3

Artist: various
Album: The Ace Story Vol.1 – Vol.3
Released: 2010 / 2011
Quality: mp3 CBR 320 / 192
Size: 145 / 125 / 73 MB

”A little over 30 years ago, the R&B and rock’n’roll loving directorate of Chiswick Records decided that it might be fun to start a sister label, which did for the recordings of what was then a mere 20 years previously what Chiswick was doing for the more current stuff. Chiswick itself had sprung from small beginnings involving two men with a market stall full of golden oldies both common and rare, so this was not something that surprised too many people who witnessed the birth of this new reissue label – which shared the name of one of the most famous imprints in rock’n’roll/R&B history and which, in 2010, still goes by the name of Ace Records.

The American Ace label, run out of Jackson Mississippi by shrewd record man Johnny Vincent, was a veritable sweet shop of great 50s and early 60s music. Ted Carroll and Roger Armstrong had been selling vast quantities of original Ace 45s on the Rock On stall, and when Ted broached the prospect of licensing some Ace masters for UK issue/reissue with Johnny Vincent, he not only said yes but gave Ted his blessing to use the Ace name as an outlet for these, and other, reissues. Thus it was that UK Ace was able to successfully mine Vincent’s trove of musical treasures and that Ted, Roger and expert Ray Topping were able to compile – among other things – five fabulous volumes of “The Ace Story”.

These original albums stayed in catalogue for years, until the deal ran out and Vincent decided to take his catalogue elsewhere. Of all the old vinyl UK Ace albums, they are among the most asked-for on CD by those who bought them decades ago and want to indulge themselves in a newly digitised version.

Over the course of the next year-and-a-bit, we’ll be reissuing all five volumes of “The Ace (Ms) Story” using the original covers. Each volume will be augmented with additional classics that wouldn’t fit the finite running time of a long player, Some tracks will have been reissued many times since we first compiled them in the late 1970s and early 1980s, while others have barely been heard in public since the aspiring hopefuls in question stood before the mic in, usually, Cosimo’s Recording Studio in downtown New Orleans and did their bit to let the good times roll. Each set offers a fabulous overview of New Orleans R&B, and some of the greatest music of their time. We’re sure we don’t need to reintroduce you to Huey Smith, Frankie Ford, Earl King, Jimmy Clanton, Bobby Marchan, Frankie Lee Sims and other members of our company. And we’re sure you’ll greet them with warm appreciation, no matter how many times you might have heard some of the biggest hits that we obviously couldn’t leave out…

…Ace is back on Ace. And this is the story, morning glory…”

Mark Sultan (2011) -Whatever I Want / Whenever I Want

Artist: Mark Sultan
Albums: Whatever I Want / Whenever I Want
Released: 2011
Quality: mp3 CBR 320
Size: 185 MB

”…Two vinyl albums that draw on Sultan’s early rock palette of influences: garage rock, doo-wop, rockabilly, soul, country and psychedelia. Sultan performs three out of the 13 songs by himself, but elsewhere gets an assist from garage-rocking contemporaries like Jared Swilley and Cole Alexander from Black Lips and Choyce from Red Mass. The music is sweaty, anarchic, lo-fi hedonism, a beer-and-tattoos kind of music that sounds live on the record and even more live in performance. It’s a back to basics move, an attempt to return to the live, beating heart of rock and roll. It seems unlikely to either kill or save his art form — and again, what would either of those outcomes look like? — but it is certainly wrapped in sincerity.”FULL REVIEW

Hipbone Slim & The Kneetremblers (2011) -Square Guitar

Artist: Hipbone Slim & Knee Tremblers
Album: Square Guitar
Release date: October 2011
Quality: mp3 CBR 160
Size: 66 MB

”Hipbone Slim and the Kneetremblers take rock’n’roll, rhythm’n’blues – whatever you want to call it – and give it their own unique stamp and energy. They have somehow captured the true essence of rock’n’roll in a way that very few have been able to do in a very long time. Their new album Square Guitar is the finest offering so far.

The band is led by the ubiquitous Sir Bald Diddley, on guitar and lead vocals, a man who has been described as “Britain’s string king” in reference to his wild and fiery guitar style, influenced by Bo Diddley, Link Wray, Chuck Berry, Dick Dale and the like, and “Ricky Nelson gone very wrong” (with regards to his singing!). Also known for his very precarious stage antics, including the infamous “Pea Bug” which involves much rolling around on the floor during guitar solos! He is currently also working on a new band project with former members of Supergrass and Thee Headcoats (see Dirty Water Records release DWC1054).

Hipbone Slim and the Kneetremblers have four albums released on Voodoo Rhythm Records, receiving great critical acclaim and all considerable radio airplay, and have also recently released a joint album with Swiss Cajun kings, Mama Rosin. Mark Lamarr regularly plays their music and has also featured the band live in session. Never short of new ideas, the band have three more albums on the way, and play a set of nearly entirely original compositions. Their recordings have regularly been described as “scarily authentic” and live shows “totally out there”! They are ce rtainly very raucous and entertaining occasions . . . The band have toured extensively throughout Europe, with more dates across the continent over the coming year.”
